Obviously out of date now but a very useful document to understand how global environmental conditions should be analysed and pragmatic solutions proposed. There are a lot of “should” and “must” statements but the difference when compared to most calls for action is that the solutions are realistic. Each chapter provides a background, statement of the status at the time of writing and a collection of concrete ideas for what to do about it.
Just as interesting is to consider what has been achieved. Energy generation is perhaps the area with the most success but it is not the only one. Unfortunately there are still many problems which remain problems today. For those looking for problems to solve, this is a good place to start.
