Book Review (4/5) – Environmental Law: A Very Short Introduction (Elizabeth Fisher)

I enjoyed the writing style and phrasing – you can definitely tell that the author is a legal scholar: very precise and concise writing, which is enjoyable to read.

The challenge with trying to provide a short introduction to environmental law is the complexity of the multitude of jurisdictions. I think this guide does a good job at introducing the key issues and concepts, along with some examples of cases and legislation from key countries such as the UK and US.

I was disappointed by the lack of further examples of specific countries but then I suppose that is the purpose of more country specific texts, and this is, after-all, a very short introduction.
